The witching hour for Windows XP (April 9, 2014) is now less than 45 days away! Here are a few reasons why you need to replace it.
- Get Ready for More Viruses
Once Microsoft stops providing patches and updates to defend against all the holes in XP, running this operating system is a DO AT YOUR OWN RISK road ahead.
- XP Is REALLY OLD…12 years old!
Isn’t that like 72 in dog years? The iPod came out when XP did. Time to upgrade.
- Least Secure Operating System By Far!
ALL other computer platforms, including Linux, all versions of Mac OS X, Windows 7 and Windows 8 are more secure than XP by a long shot. Windows Vista is a piece of crap, but still more secure!
- Built For Simpler Times
XP was created for a simpler world of technology. It was formatted to fit to a screen only 640 pixels wide, and it showcased IE6 as a new product. The internet was a different place when XP was developed. Smartphones were non-existent, laptops were a luxury and tablet computers were science fiction.
- Only So Much Room for Band-Aids
Band-aid fixes on top of each other can only be effective for so long. Super glue can help, but at some point you just got to scrap it and start fresh.
- Support Is Going to Be Gone
Microsoft will stop all support for XP on April 9, 2014.
The time to plan the transition from Windows XP to Windows 7 or 8 is… YESTERDAY! But we will settle for as soon as possible.
