Office 365 Email Migration

If your company is moving to Office 365 from an in-house exchange server (hooray!) or from another email system there are a few key things to know as a user.

  1. During this transition, your mailbox will be moved to the Microsoft Office 365 systems located in the cloud. If you have an older version of Office on your computer you MAY need to upgrade office. If you have the latest version this migration will not require any action on your part in regards to Office installed on your workstation.
  2. Below are instructions on how to configure your EMAIL ON YOUR PHONE  (Android device or Apple iPhone). You will only be able to make this change AFTER your mailbox has been moved, so please do not do this until your IT team tells you to. Your mail will continue to flow normally up until this point.

For users with Apple devices, please follow these steps:

1) Open Settings

2) Open Accounts & Passwords

3) Tap on the current account associated with your work email

4) Tap on Delete Account

5) Tap on Delete from My iPhone (now the account is removed)

6) Go back to Accounts & Passwords

7) Tap Add Account

8) Tap Exchange

9) Enter the email address of your work email

10) Tap Sign In

11) Enter your password (likely same as your computer password)

12) The Mail app may request certain permissions. Tap Accept

13) Choose which items you want sync’d to your device (probably just accept the defaults)

14) Tap Save

For users with Android devices, please follow these steps: (note: these settings might vary slightly depending on the model of your device)

1) Open Settings

2) Tap Accounts

3) Tap on the current account associated with your work email

4) Tap on Delete Account

5) Tap on Remove Account (or Delete account)

6) Confirm the removal if asked (now the account is removed)

7) Go back to Accounts

8) Tap Add Account

9) Tap Exchange

10) Enter your work email address and password

11) The Mail app may request certain permissions. Tap Accept or Allow

12) If asked, choose which items you want sync’d to your device (probably just accept the defaults)

13) Tap Save or OK
